6 songs that you need to be listening to that you possibly have not heard just yet...
Seems like fans have been waiting all day for Sevyn Streeter to drop her debut album Girl Interrupted. It has been over year since she dropped the popular Should've Been Here Pt.1 EP and now she is FINALLY gearing up to drop her album. Sevyn told Power105's The Breakfast Club she will be dropping a new video each month leading up to her album dropping early 2017. In August she released "Prolly" feat Gucci Mane. While the song had nice visuals, it was not the track many wanted or expected from the Chris Brown signee. However she came WITH IT for her second single "My Love For You". The ballad is basically every reason why many fell in love with Sevyn's music to begin with. It is such a step-up from the first single and hopefully her debut LP has more tracks like it.
I could not stand Ty Dolla $ign initially but after his debut album Free TC, I have been hooked. His voice has grew on me and his song writing ability is rather impressive. With the release of his new project Campaign, Dolla $ign continues to produce quality music. The album is a different tone than Free C but still comes out as one of the best R&B projects of the year. My favorite joint on the project has to be "Zaddy". The track is raunchy yet smooth at the same damn time. Peep it below.
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN LLOYD? Lloyd disappeared from he game for awhile but now has emerged from the shadows with a song explaining why. "Tru" is basically a life update from the Atlanta singer. It has been over five years since Lloyd's last album King of Hearts and it is about time he returned and hopefully fans are gifted with a new one before the year is out. Lloyd is one of my favorite singers and though he has been away for awhile, he has not lost a step vocally. "Tru" is one of my favorite songs right now and after a few listens it might be one of yours as well.
I hate seeing great projects not get the proper credit they deserve and that is exactly how I feel about Usher's latest album Harder II Love. This album is FLAMES and if you do not already have it on your playlist, then cop it ASAP. One of my favorite tracks on the album is "Tell Me". It is sort of the 2016 version of "Can you Handle It". The seducing track is over seven minutes and finds over showing his vocal range all throughout the bedroom banger. Like he mentioned during his TIDAL interview, "this song will make a lot of babies".
Now I know that many are confused as to how both Tyga and Desiigner were able to be signed to G.O.O.D. Music but wake up! Desiigner has some talent but despite other reasons to dislike Tyga, rapping should not be one of them. He can actually spit! Him and Mr. Timmy Turner collab on this this new joint and it is LIT! Peep the track below.
Last but not least is TDE's Isaiah Rashad. He no doubt had one of the most anticipated projects of the year being that it feels like Civila Demo came out forever ago. Isaiah's music is such a breath of fresh air when you think about majority of the music you get from Southern rappers these days. He has trap elements but adds soul to all his tracks. My favorite song on the album is "Stuck in the Mud". The production is relaxing, as him and SZA (who we want an album from as well) coast freely over it.
