#BulletPoints: Chris Brown "X"

In this first edition of what I call #BulletPoints, I review and give my thoughts on Chris Brown's latest album "X".
X
  • Great Album (not classic but still great)
  • Big Upgrade over "Fortune" (it had a few hits but as a whole it was ehhhh)
  • I don't think Brown added any new material after his jail stint. Most of the songs and features in the album were announced before he was locked up.
  • Speaking of features, they are the best part of the album. ! (Yes, even the song with Akon)
  • I'm not saying the features make the album because Brown delivers on all the tracks; I'm more so saying all the songs with are features are just the better songs. (If that makes sense)
  • I wish one of those Breezy/Drizzy tracks would have made the album.
  • Shoutout to all the babies that will be made to "Songs on 12 Play" and "Drown In It".
  • I'm not sure if I like this album better than FAME yet. I loved FAME.
  • Chris Brown can really do any type of music he chooses. This album proves it. It has a little bit of everything. (Except country but hey, Taylor Swift gave that up too)
  • However, because the album touches a lot of genres, I think the lack of cohesiveness as a whole prevents it from the classic status.
  • Kendrick Lamar's verse on "Autumn Leaves" doesn't really fit the song to me BUT it goes hard as hell.
  • I feel majority of us can relate to Brown and Aiko's "Drunk Texting" collabo
  • Matter fact "Drunk Texting" must be a single. It has to be.
  • My Favorite Songs (At the moment at least): "Drunk Texting", "Drown In It", "Songs on 12 Play", "Came To Do", and "New Flame".

What are your thoughts on the new album "X" by Chris Brown? How does it compare to previous albums? What are your favorite songs? COMMENT below and also check out all the videos released from album below as well.

Good points. The album is pretty solid. "Drunk Texting" is probably the best song on the album.
