Jay Z! He purchased the Swedish technology company Aspiro for 56 million dollars. Aspiro operates TIDAL. Besides Jay Z, there are others who won TIDAL. They are the artists! The company is has 16 celebrity artists stakeholders. They are: Alicia Keys, Arcade Fire, Beyoncé, Calvin Harris, Chris Martin, Deadmau5, Daft Punk, Jack White, Jason Aldean, J. Cole, Jay Z, Kanye West, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Usher.

WHAT is TIDAL?
TIDAL describes itself as the first music streaming service that combines the best high fidelity sound quality, high definition videos, exclusive content and editorial content. It is also the "first artist-owned global music and entertainment platform".
WHEN did TIDAL launch?
Many people think TIDAL was just released but that is not the case. TIDAL has been in the United States since Fall 2014. Jay Z's company purchased the steaming service in early 2015. TIDAL held a press conference on March 30th, 2015 to relaunch the service under the Hov reign and give details.

TIdal is located in a variety of places. Its available in both the iOS and Android app stores. It is also accessible on desktop. It is available in the United States as well 30 other countries.
WHY is TIDAL happening?
TIDAL is here to bring change. Jay Z and the artists involved want to alter the way we look at music. They want to restore the value of music to listeners as well as want to give power back to the artists. They plan to compensate the artist more than the current music streaming services do,

TIDAL is a subscription music streaming service. They have two subscriptions. TIDAL Premium is $9.99 a month; it features standard sound quality, HD music videos and expertly curated content. TIDAL HiFi is $19.99 a month; it features everything included in Premium with the addition of Lossless High Fidelity sound quality.
