CONGRATS on the huge accomplishment! This day will be one of the best of your life, TRUST ME (it should be at least)! I cannot recall too many feelings better than how I felt when I walked (jigged) across that stage on my Graduation day. Be proud of yourself! It took a lot to make it to this point! I am sure you will always remember those all night study sessions, those countless coffees from Starbucks (or adderalls for some of you) and cannot forget about the TURN UP sessions after all the studying. YOU FINALLY MADE IT!
But what happens next...
A study by the Washington Post back in early 2014 showed that 4 out of 5 students graduate from college without a job. Now I am sure that statistic has changed over the year and possibly does not include students going to grad school but that is still a big number.
My question is: Are you one of those graduates?
2. Don't get Discouraged:
3. Work on YOU:
4. Work on Your Craft:
5. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Have FAITH!
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." - Mark 11:24
You have to tell God about that job you desire (continually, don't say it once and give up) and have faith that it will come into fruition.
Now that I think about it, I have been reading this book and one of the notes I took on it can be beneficial to you. I have been reading Break Out: 5 Keys to Go Beyond Your Barriers and Live an Extraordinary Life by Joel Osten. In Chapter 2 of the book, Osteen say you should declare: "God, this is for me today. I'm raising my expectations. I'm shaking off doubt, negativity, disappointments, self-pity, little dreams and little goals, and God, I will make room for a flood of your goodness of Your goodness."
I hope walking across that stage is one of the best moments of your life but I also hope that it is just one of the best moments of your life and that many more are to come.
