1. Make a PrOmise to Yourself
Well the same can be said for finding yourself! Make a promise to make changes in your life that will ultimately benefit you in the best way. Tell them to supporting friends or family who will hold you accountable to that promise and will also be there to lean on when you find yourself wavering.
2. God BLOCKED IT
BLOCK certain PEOPLE
out of yours!
Some of you are professional blockers. You can block someone on all social media and block them from your inbox at the drop of a hat. However, if you are like me and never really utilized the block feature God blessed smartphone users with…well now is the time. Block any negative person or anyone who triggers some of those bad habits you promised yourself to change. You would be surprised how many people you have to go back and block as the weeks go by. After your inbox goes through the initial dry spell, you will definitely notice the amount of non-sense you received on a daily basis and a significant mood improvement.
3. Occupy Your Time
Maybe you have something you loved to do but stopped. Maybe there is something you have always wanted to try but never really had the time to. Well with your new promises and added free time from blocking half of your inbox, there is no time like the present!
Go somewhere you have always wanted to go, read, write, learn a new craft or perfect an old one. There are plenty of things I would have never done without making the decision to try things I enjoy such as attending church frequently, reading more about subjects that interest me or relate to me, writing poetry whenever I felt inspired, keeping a prayer journal, teaching myself how to DJ and even volunteering to write this article!
What better way to discover yourself than to do things that make you happy?
4. Let It Go
It is time to let some things go. Not just habits or people, but your state of mind.
Let that hurt go!
Seriously, any thoughts that distract you, feelings you let plague relationships, or even negative people that may be influencing you. Whether its temporary or permanent, giving up certain things was the best thing I could ever do for myself. Discipline is a virtue in my eyes and fasting from social media for a week and even recently making the decision to be celibate has helped me in areas I did not even know were connected to each other. Getting better control over your behavior, so you can end the patterns that keep hindering you is a “Major Key” to finding peace and becoming the person you have longed to be!
