I was inspired to write this a few days ago. A friend called me with some upsetting news. They had been wanting something for awhile. Heck, I wanted it for them. Unfortunately, they will not be getting it. At least not the way or as soon as they want it. I feel bad for them but I can also relate. I graduated in December and Lord knows I want to be putting my degree to use. I spent four and half years to obtain it. It is highly frustrating to want something so bad but you just cannot get it.
We all have this "Blueprint" for our lives but we often forget about God in that "Blueprint". Our plans might not necessarily be in God's "Blueprint" for us or in the phase of that "Blueprint" that we think it should take place. We might want a job or relationship in phase one of our "Blueprint" but God has it taking place in phase four. God is building us up to take us to the place where he wants us to be. It may not be exactly what, how, where or when we want it but we just have be patient, have faith and let his will be done.
Now I know that this is easier said than done. Often we are ready to go 60 miles per hour when God might have us in a school zone. We often pray every night for soemthing and get no results. It can be very frustrating. I know we are suppose to keep faith but that gets hard at times too. We are not perfect so doubt happens but remember God works on his timing and not ours. I know I have brief moments of doubt or discouragement about my "Blueprint", but I think of this story and it helps me out.
The story is the one of Joseph in the book of Genesis. God had a plan for Joseph's life. However from his trials and tribulations, you would have your doubts. JOSEPH WENT THROUGH IT! The man was kidnapped and sold into slavery by his brothers. After he was bought by Potiphar, captain of the guard of the Pharaoh in Egypt, he did excellent work until he ended up in jail! Poptiphar's wife wanted the pipe from Joseph but because he refused to be her plumber, she set him up (see these garden tools were not loyal even back in the biblical days lol jk). Joseph was in jail for a few years but next thing you know he was in charge of all Egypt (second in command to only the Pharaoh himself).
This story is the perfect example of God's "Blueprint". He had a plan for Joseph's life just like he has a plan for yours and mine. We have to remain faithful to his plan and trust him. Joseph remained faithful to God despite his circumstances and he was a winner in every situation because of it. He went from just a slave in Potiphar's home to his personal assistant because he was successful at his job. He was thrown in jail, gained favor with the warden and was quickly put in charge of all the prisoners and the things that happened in the prison. He became the RULER OF EGYPT for heaven's sake. He had favor!
What is God's plan for your life and mine? I am not sure of that. I do know that whatever it is will lead to happiness and success. Will the "Blueprint" be perfect? Not at all; there will be challenges along the way. Sometimes a storm in your life might halt the construction. Sometimes phases in the "Blueprint" are longer than you want them to be. Sometimes you may get discouraged and want to go with your own plan. I encourage you to be patient, stay strong in your faith and believe in God's Blueprint for your life. It might not be second in command to the Pharaoh of Egypt but it could be a smile on your face every time you wake up in the morning.
I am a work in progress so the words above are not just for you all but reminders to me as well. Check the bible verse below for extra encouragement. Hope you enjoyed the post, I know many can relate. Be blessed.
