DO NOT RUIN IT!
I love Netflix. The original programing they have produced in the past years has been superb with shows like Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. I think one of the most popular things about Netflix's original programing is that you get the entire series AT ONCE! You do not have to wait week to week for new episodes.
In the video, I ask how do people prefer their TV. Do they like it the Netflix way or do they prefer the original week to week way. Honestly, it was hard for me to chose but I think I prefer the weekly new episodes method. Now while I hate waiting each week for the new episode, I prefer my series to be drawn out a bit. Often with Netflix series you binge watch them; this results in you finishing the series within a week or so (sometimes a weekend if your really have nothing to do). After that, you are stuck waiting a whole year until the next season. Now you have to wait a year for some television shows as well but a lot of the popular ones have two parts to their season so the viewer is occupied longer.
Now my biggest issues with the Netflix's original programming has nothing to do with the shows. My problem is with YOU, the viewers!
Some of you sure do know how to ruin a show for others. I know that you are excited to watch but you do not have tell the whole world about what is going on! I luckily was able to enjoy Season Two's first episode but unfortunately many others knew Zoey was pushed in front of a train before they could even began the season.
I personally did not get through the season without knowing Francis became President of the Unted States before I arrived on the last episode. I blame Twitter! Lets be different this season people. NO MORE SPOLING!
I have 2 suggestions as you watch the new season of House of Cards (or any other Netflix originals):
1. LEAVE SOCIAL MEDIA ALONE! Go on a hiatus when you watch the new season. You do not have to tweet "I can't believe *insert name* just died" or "OMG *insert jaw-dropping show moment* OMG". Think before you tweet! Think about the people who are not watching the show at the moment. We want to have the same "OMG moment" as you.
2. Now if you cannot give up your social media for the show, I understand. I love my social media too. However, there are ways to enjoy and tweet about a show without being a spoiler. Example: After Francis kills somebody (which I'm sure he will) you can say "FRANK IS A BAD MAN" or when something huge happens during the show you can say "WAIT TIL EPISODE _".
Now I understand people can spoil regular tv shows as well by tweeting during an episode (I am guilty of that sometimes) but what is spoiling one episode compared to a spoiling whole season? EXACTLY! If you decide to binge watch, talk about the show with another binge watcher, NOT YOUR TIMELINE. All I ask is that you be generous to all and PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL MY NETFLIX SERIES!
